Sojourn Fellowship Church does not have its own building, so we gather at Eastside Christian Church. Access to our room is found on the backside of the first building you see. There will be ample parking available and a clear sign indicating the entrance to our space. Occasionally, we have to change rooms for a week, but whichever room we end up using will be clearly marked with our sign.
Service begins Saturday at 10:45 am. Doors are open by 10:30.
You'll be greeted warmly upon arrival. There will be refreshments available to all who attend; coffee, tea, and some snacks.
We tend to dress casually, but there is no official dress code or expectation. Feel free to come as formal or as comfortable and cozy as you want. All we ask is that no one dresses to intentionally provoke.
The beginning of service will be marked by a worship song or two. Afterward, a message will be delivered, usually by Pastor Jay, and we'll close out with prayer.
At that moment, there will be roughly 30-60 minutes before the doors close. This is the time to fellowship with others, grab some more snacks, and speak with the church leaders.

Everyone.
We understand that many have their own church-related, horror stories about being unwelcome. Whatever your situation may be, as long as you come to seek truth, you are welcome. Jesus was criticized for being "too inviting" in Mark 2:15-17 just as we may be.

No. We claim no denomination at all. While we gather and observe the sabbath on Saturday (Leviticus 23:3), our doctrines differ from Adventists in other ways. For a simple example, we do not encourage believers to engage in vegetarianism.
No.
Because we declare Jesus to be the messiah and we keep the practice of Sabbath, it is understandable how one could become confused. Messianic Jewish churches tend to keep additional man-made practices related to the Talmud and later rabbinical teachings, but we do not. For example, we do not celebrate Hanukkah or Purim. In no way do we strive to be culturally "Jewish." All of our beliefs and doctrines are pulled from scripture, not from tradition.
Absolutely not.
"Sacred Name Theology" refers to the idea that only God's and Jesus' holy names may be used in reference to them. Some have gone so far as to say that you aren't saved if you called on the name of "Jesus" instead of "Yahshua."
This is an egregious twisting of scripture and we do not abide by it. The prevalence of the name "YHWH" throughout the website is simply a preference of the ministry. That said, whether you call our Father "God," "YHWH," "Adonai," "Father," etc. is perfectly fine. It's the same for his son. What's important is that we all understand that we are coming together in worship of the creator of heaven and earth.
No. It's just a similar name. This is a separate ministry entirely.
